Club information

Lexington Sunrise Rotary Club is dedicated to the Rotary motto of "Service Above Self" and is involved in several community projects. Some examples:

  • Annual children's fishing trip and picnic at the Kentucky Fish and Game Farm in Frankfort
  • Holiday craft project for Girl Scouts and residents of the Castlewood Home
  • Valentine Humanitarian project for Lexington at risk children
  • Literacy project, "Read and Ride" to enhance reading skills in primary schools including a weekly bicycle drawing to promote attendance and summer reading.
  • Access to Career Week in partnership with KCTCS (Kentucky Community Technical College System). This program allows high school students to explore educational and vocational opportunities.
  • Restoration planting of over 1000 trees at McConnell Springs to repair ice storm damage
  • International project in collaboration with a Rotary Club in Guatemala and Ecuador
  • Members have an opportunity to serve the community as well as establish relationships with other professionals. Rotary members may attend Rotary Club meetings anywhere in the world or make up meetings through the web.
